چکیده

Response to Letter Regarding Article, “Early Repolarization Is an Independent Predictor of Occurrences of Ventricular Fibrillation in the Very Early Phase of Acute Myocardial Infarctions” We thank Drs Hayashi and Horie for their comments with regard to our recently published article. Previous reports demonstrated that cardiovascular drugs and heart rate can potentially alter the presence early repolarization. The prescribed medications and heart rate between the patients with and without early repolarization are shown in Table. There was no significant difference in the prescribed medications and heart rate between the 2 groups. When the occurrence of ventricular fibrillation was analyzed, the prescribed medications and heart rate did not differ between the patients with and without a ventricular fibrillation occurrence (Table). Although our study revealed that the prescribed medications and heart rate were not associated with the presence of early repolarization and the occurrence of ventricular fibrillation, further larger studies will be needed to confirm these findings.

Early repolarization is an independent predictor of occurrences of ventricular fibrillation in the very early phase of acute myocardial infarction.

BACKGROUND Recent evidence has linked early repolarization (ER) to idiopathic ventricular fibrillation (VF) in patients without structural heart disease. However, no studies have clarified whether or not there is an association between ER and the VF occurrences after the onset of an acute myocardial infarction (AMI). METHODS AND RESULTS This study retrospectively included 220 consecutive pati...

Response to Letter to the Editor: "Evaluate the effects of curcumin on the prevention of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and heart failure in patients with unstable angina"

Dear editor Regarding the duration of supplement therapy in our study which has been published in the Avicenna J Phytomed, 2019; 9(1): 1-9, “The effects of curcumin on the prevention of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and heart failure in patients with unstable angina” (Dastani et al., 2019),  some critical flaws has been mentioned. Primarily, we are grateful for the consi...

Letter by Casado-Arroyo et al regarding article, "Electrocardiographic characteristics and SCN5A mutations in idiopathic ventricular fibrillation associated with early repolarization".

BACKGROUND Recently, we and others reported that early repolarization (J wave) is associated with idiopathic ventricular fibrillation. However, its clinical and genetic characteristics are unclear. METHODS AND RESULTS This study included 50 patients (44 men; age, 45 ± 17 years) with idiopathic ventricular fibrillation associated with early repolarization, and 250 age- and sex-matched healthy ...

Dear editor In a recent issue of the journal, Dastani et al. (2019) evaluate the effects of curcumin on the prevention of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias and heart failure in patients with unstable angina. Despite the fact that the topic was interesting, there were some defects and we wish to call to your attention important factual issues in this publication. The most cr...

Author Reply to Letter to the Editor: Silent and Malignant Early Repolarization Syndrome Mimicking Hyper-Acute ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction.

A 55-year-old male with underlying type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension presented at our emergency department with ventricular fibrillation-related cardiac arrest. Hyper-acute ST elevation myocardial infarction was the preliminary diagnosis by 12-lead electrocardiography, which simultaneously showed J point ST elevation and tall T waves. However, the echocardiography showed concentric left...
